About Us
Alpine Fishing Guides has been in operation since 1996 and by Greg Dougherty and his wife Paula since 2002. Offering guided fishing trips in the Wanaka region on the South Island of New Zealand for wild Brown and Rainbow trout.
Alpine Fishing Guides are one of the few companies to offer Drift or Float fishing trips in New Zealand and have all the legal requirements to do so. We are current in First Aid, trained in River Rescue, and are fully insured. On our trips we carry a first aid kit as well as an emergency locator beacon.
We also have local council approval and hold New Zealand rafting qualifications as well as Department of Conservation concessions. We run under Maritime New Zealand rules with a comprehensive Safety Management System. Greg is a member of the New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association.
Alpine Fishing Guides have a 100% safety record and aim to keep it that way. Greg has lived and fished in this beautiful area of New Zealand all his life and now is sharing it with people from all over the world
